Now available in pdf format: application forms for Soccer, and Jr. Pro Football schedules

Adamsville Recreation & Parks Department was established as a branch of the City of Adamsville in 1998. The department maintains programs in Flag Football, Tackle Football, Cheerleading, Basketball and Soccer.  Applications for Dixie Youth T-ball, Softball and Baseball are available at the Recreation & Parks office located in the park at the pavilion.  Games are played on the fields in the Buford Pusser Memorial Park.  Adamsville Recreation & Parks Department helps promote the Buford Pusser Festival with a 5K run for all ages.

The department offers a game for all seasons. Sign ups for Jr. Pro Flag Football, Tackle Football, Cheerleading and Soccer for ages 5-12 begin shortly after school starts in August. Football games are played Tuesday nights at the Adamsville High School football field. Soccer games are played on Saturday morning on the Soccer field behind Adamsville Elementary School. As the season winds down in Soccer, Football and Cheerleading we begin sign ups for the Jr. Pro Basketball winter season. Sign ups are in December. Games are played in January and February on Saturdays at the Adamsville High School Gymnasium through out the day. Dixie Youth T-ball, Softball and Baseball sign ups begin in March, with games and All-Star games lasting well into the summer.

The City Park, now called the Buford Pusser Memorial Park, that once was a sandlot and horse barn was established by non other than Buford Pusser and the Adamsville Jaycees in October 1973. Money raised from a concert of top-notch artists that included George Jones and Tammy Wynette began the funding of the City Park. Funding from the concert and grants through the city have built the park the way it is today. The park consists of a lighted basketball court, lighted tennis courts, playground with a variety of equipment for kids to enjoy, three ball fields, open air pavilion, picnic tables, 4 grills, shade trees and a walking track.

To reserve the Pavilion in the Buford Pusser Memorial Park for a party or event, call the City Hall.  There is no charge, but this is an open public facility and the city is not responsible for activities around the pavilion at the time of your party.
